How It Works
No one is born a great speaker, but you can become better and more effective with practice.
Each new member is provided with a workbook with 10 projects…each one designed to teach you a specific skill. As you complete these projects, you’ll find yourself amore relaxed, more confident, and overall BETTER speaker.
You can work through these projects at your own pace. There’s no pressure on members to “hurry”. And the end of your first ten speaking projects, you’ll receive the Competent Communicator award for your efforts!
Meeting Roles
As you become more comfortable with the group, you may want to participate in the various roles for each meeting. Participating in these roles will help you develop leadership skills and teach you how to help organize and run successful meetings. Your participation will earn you credit toward the Competent Leader award.
Advanced Communication
After the Compentent Communicator Award, you have the option to work through various advanced communication and leadership projects. Toastmasters International provides manuals for these projects, and you may still work at your own pace.
